92 240, 5 speed, same owner for the last 15 or 20 years, garage kept, possibly the nicest one I’ve ever seen. 212k but the odo stopped 4 years ago, but supposedly only driven to the grocery store for the last 5 years by a retired schoolteacher.

He was asking $3500, and said he’d take $2500. I decided to think about it, because I really shouldn’t be get a 4th car, but I don’t know when, or if I’ll ever see another one this nice. Seriously, it looks and drives fantastic, not a speck of rust, everything works, it just feels like it’ll need a clutch soon.

Anyways, I just saw the ad was taken down. I had a feeling the next person to see it would buy it. Hopefully they don’t ruin it for drifting  like most manual rwd Volvo’s get ruined around here.

Broken odos are super common on 240s, like it’s weirder to find one with it still working. But yeah, I do.

Same usually, but this thing was so nice. I also already have a wagon, and I do like the look of 242s and 244s

I should’ve taken pictures of the interior. it was nearly pristine. It looked and drove like a 5 year old car, if that.

I’m trusting the guy to have sold it to someone who’s not an idiot. It’s also not a turbo, which hopefully means the mouth-breathers who just strip the interiors and weld the diffs don’t care about it.

....I still may call him tomorrow in case it’s not super sold. But if the ad’s down, I’m betting it’s sold.

I should’ve. I thought it would go quick, but not so quick that I couldn’t sleep on it. It wasn’t just the cash, it was figuring out what I was gonna juggle to make 4 cars happen, and ~$1000 to do the clutch was a factor as well.

My need for a 535i with the red leather comfort interior, a 5 speed and and LSD is even stronger than my need for a 240. I love 240s, but I also love my 144 more. I’ll spend that $2500 on my 144 when my mechanic has the time/space
